Black & White Tile Bathroom Floor

I love vintage black and white tile pattern bathroom floors. When I came across this image I fell in love with these pastel blue walls. It makes the room feel fresh and modern. In the early 1900s, this black and white tile pattern became a popular choice for bathroom floors. Of course now a days you can order these tiles in several different colors.

Dallas Textile Maven Bonnee Sharp's M-Street Home

After reading about Dallas Textile Maven Bonnee Sharp’s home in DHome Magazine I fell in love with her style. Bonnee's cottage home is both charming and contemporary.

From the article: Things couldn’t be better for Bonnee Sharp. She and husband Marc Fuller are entertained daily by their 2-year-old daughter Georgia. Her business, Studio Bon Textiles, is booming. High-end textile supplier Schumacher will carry her designs in its New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas showrooms beginning in August. And she has loved being able to bring her style to the 1924 M Street cottage she and her family call home. “We’ve had a contrast with the structure and the style inside,” she says. “There’s a real push-pull juxtaposition that makes it interesting.”

The large, open living room is home to a vintage mirror, vintage Lee Industries chairs, and a coffee table and side tables they bought at a New York City flea market. The jute rug is from Crate & Barrel. Built-ins house a number of antiques the couple inherited mixed with contemporary items. photography by Terri Glanger

The dining room boasts a pendant light by Le Klint. The Danish vintage table and chairs are by Poul Denisen—Sharp re-covered the chairs in bone leather. The curtain panels are “Oodles” by Studio Bon Textiles.photography by Terri Glanger

The kitchen is one of Bonnee Sharp’s favorite rooms. The breakfast nook has a pendant light from Le Klint, a framed wallpaper panel by Studio Printworks, and vintage chairs re-covered in black hide. The Roman shade and window seat are covered in Studio Bon fabrics.photography by Terri Glanger

Happy Mother's Day

I wanted to wish every mother out there a Happy Mother's Day.

Celebrity Flea Market Finds

I came across this an article about celebrity Flea Market Finds on Instyle.com. Here are a few of my favorites.

Constance Zimmer's Book Collection

The actress loves to shop flea markets for vintage editions. The books get displayed around her home and help to create the overall "eclectic, flea-market vibe" she's looking for.

Molly Sims's Chandelier and Chairs

The Las Vegas actress furnished her guest room with chairs and a chandelier found at a Paris flea market. "Sure, it's convenient to go into a shop and buy a ready-made couch or chair," says Sims, "but I think it's more original to customize antiques." And that includes flea-market finds: The actress loves salvaging and recycling cast-off relics with hip fabrics and accents.

Brittany Murphy's Perfume Bottles

"I grew up flea-marketing," says the actress, who has been collecting vintage perfume bottles over the years. Murphy caught the collecting bug from her mother, who owned an antiques store in Edison, N.J., and instilled in her only child an appreciation for heirlooms.

Nicky Hilton's Chanel Tray

A vintage Chanel serving tray, which Hilton scored at an antiques store in the Hamptons, was converted into a side table. "I only buy things that have some meaning to me," says Hilton. "I don’t put objects in my home just because they look cool."
