Weekend Shopping

I was listening to Skirted Roundtable this morning with guest speaker, Ann Spiro, from Absolutely Beautiful Things.  She mentioned shopping at Number Four Eleven in Savannah.  I came across some gorgeous decorative items for bed, bath and home.  Here are some of my favorites.

This Antique White Chair would look great under a desk or vanity.

This monogrammed necklace is a great gift for any woman.  I thought it would be great to use my 3 month old son's initials.

I am off to enjoy a relaxing weekend with my family at the lake.  I hope you have wonderful Labor Day Weekend!

Fall '09

I spent part of my afternoon looking through the new Restoration Hardware Fall '09 Catalog. I love how they combine furniture resembeling pieces from 19th-century France with 18th Century Neoclassical furniture.
I love the white washed wood, biege linen fabric, nailhead trim, and oversized light fixtures. Very stunning. I started to think about where I have seen similar pieces and came across a few pieces from my favorites shops like Wisteria and Global Views.

Floral Pillows

Create your own dimensional flower petal pillow to add a little bit of modern pop to your sofa or chair.

Create Your Own
1.Photocopy template, enlarging or reducing as desired.  Using template, cut out 4 petals from desired fabric.
2. Knot end of thread; sew a running stitch through bottom of petals, making 2 stitches for each.
3. Gently pull thread to gather petals, and knot thread.
4. Make 1 more stitch to connect last and first petals to form flower, then knot and trim thread
5. Repeat, making flowers in a variety of sizes if you choose.  Tack-stitch flowers to pillow in the desired pattern of your choice.

Shabby Chic Birthday

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. I wanted to share some pictures from a relatives birthday party I attended on Saturday, who turned 65 years old. All the beautiful decorations were created by her daughter. She did a great job incorporating her mom's favorite colors, pink and green. I love how she used old photos as ornaments in the hydrangea flower arrangement. The glittery chandeliers added a touch of glamour to her old apartment clubhouse. Several were hung from the ceiling. She truly made her feel like a Queen for a day.
